我的祈祷

让我不要祈祷在险恶中得到庇护 ,
但祈祷能无畏地面对它们 ,

让我不乞求我的痛苦会静止 ,
但求我的心能征服它。

让我在生命的战场上不盼望同盟 ,
而使用我自己的力量。

让我不在忧虑的恐怖中渴念被救 ,
但希望用坚忍来获得我的自由。

允准我, 我虽是一个弱者 ,
不在我成功中觉到你的仁慈,
但让我在失败中找到你的手紧握。

My Pray
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers
but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain
but for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield
but to my own strength.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved
but hope for the patience to win my freedom.

Grant me that I may not be a coward,
feeling your mercy in my success alone;
but let me find the grasp of your hand in my failure.

拉宾德拉纳特泰戈尔（1861-1941年），印度著名诗人、文学家、社会活动家、哲学家和印度民族主义者。1861年5月7日，拉宾德拉纳特泰戈尔出生于印度加尔各答一个富有的贵族家庭。1913年，他以《吉檀迦利》成为第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的亚洲人。他的
诗中含有深刻的宗教和哲学的见解，代表作《吉檀迦利》、《飞鸟集》、《新月集》。
